Week 2 - Second Meeting With My Kid

20th of March, today is my second meeting with my kid.Our session starts at 6pm as usual in our faculty's Cube. Today , we decided to teach our children on how to do Google Power Search.

Google Power Search is a really useful technique used to specify which query to be search. Techniques include site: , double quote , and filetype: operator. These operator limits the google search console on certain query.

Our children have some difficulties at the start since they have never used this technique , however , we provide them some examples and they finally get to pick up the skills.

After hours of learning Google Power Search , I decided to give my kid a chance to try applying by using my Ipad as platform. After seeing her success , I gave her a little break and allow her to play some games on my Ipad since not much time is left.

I hope our children will apply what they learnt today and help them to excel in their future examinations , I am looking forward to our next session to teach them more using IlearnAce platform.

Week 1 - Meeting and Ice-breaking

13th of March 2018 , today is the first day of meeting the the children from our faculty's social engagement e-learning program. Our team consists of 11 members who are all currently students taking bachelor degree of Computer Science major in Software Engineering.We are assigned a task of helping primary schol standard 6 students to pass their PSAR(previously known as UPSR) with flying colors.

Each of us will be assigned to taking care of one child , so that's total of 11 children assigned to our group.I am assigned to a kid named Nurul Insyirah.

We started gathering our children at 6.15pm from the Cube in CS faculty. First , we had a brief ice-breaking session of introducing ourselves. Also , we had a little insights into what each of our children's passions and interests are , just to strengthen our bond.

We came across that our children were actually going to have a Mathematics test on the next day , so we had several mathematics questions taken from their textbooks and wrote them on a whiteboard. We encouraged our children to try answering the questions on a blank piece of paper.

I taught my kid,Nurul Insyirah about several techniques to be used in solving Mathematical questions that I found really useful during my time as a primary school students. She is a really smart kid that she picked up the techniques really fast without having much difficulties.

Around 9pm , our session had finally ended. Our children are picked up by their parents safely. It was a really fun and informative day and I look forward to our next meeting.
